Last week Vicky Noufal and I were having a conversation with one of our team members who was feeling discouraged.
She met clients through some marketing efforts she did last year and they met to discuss listing their home this Spring. She spent a lot of time going through the property and giving them recommendations and letting them know what they should be doing to prepare for market.
She followed up regularly and consistently with notes, calls, emails, and even a pop by during the holiday season.
When she followed up again they let her know that they decided to go with someone else.
She was frustrated, and tired of giving so much guidance and information away for free, only for the potential clients to use it and then hire someone else. Has this ever happened to you?
It’s happened to me many times, and most assuredly it will happen again.
Our advice to her? Continue to give. Be generous with your knowledge, experience, and guidance. Most people will be grateful and will work with you as a result. There are some that won’t. Bless and release, and move on to those that you can help.
How do you handle it when this happens to you in your business?
