A little something for you that I shared with my team and Empower Coaching members this morning ...
Have you ever done a vision board? I did for the first time last year, and really found it impactful.
I just completed mine for 2020, and wanted to share my process. This took less than an hour, and my final cost is less than $12. Here’s how ...
First, I went to Pinterest and created a secret board for this year (I’ve done this for many years). Then I searched for photos and quotes for things that are meaningful for me and represent changes I want to make or things I want to strive towards.
Then I made a quick graphic on Canva (I used the Instagram post template) featuring my word of the year. Then I identified a favorite family photo from this year.
Next, I created my collage. I used the Project Life app (I use this app for making photo books each year), but you can use any collage app. When I was finished placing my photos/quotes, I downloaded it as an 8x8 image.
Finally, I uploaded the image on my Walgreens app. They print the 8x8 size for $3.99 each. I print three ... one to hang on the wall of my closet where I will see it everyday and one to hang by both of my desks (at home and in my office). My prints were ready to pick up in less than an hour.
For me, my family is always at the center of my board because they are at the center of everything I do. I chose a photo of us having fun together (at Disney, of course!!) because I want to focus on us having more fun together in the new year. I always include my word of the year at the top, as that is my starting point and direction. The other photos represent things I want to do, plan to do, want to strive towards (not necessarily things to be completed this year). Examples ... shell on the beach because I love walking on the beach and looking for shells, and want more of that. In home yoga “studio” because I plan to make a space like this for me in my home this year and use it regularly. A photo of me and my oldest boys riding the Disney Skyliner for the first time because I want to do more new things without fear. A photo of a screened porch overlooking the water because not only do I want to vacation in a spot like this, but one day I will live in a place with a view like this. You get the picture. 🙂
Let me know if you plan to make one of your own! Sharing optional.
