Yesterday at our team retreat we reviewed our year of 2019.
We shared our numbers, discussed how they compared to our goal that we set, and shared our biggest struggle from the year, and the thing that we are most proud of.
There were LOTS of tears.
A recurring theme? The pressure we put on ourselves to do more, to be more, to produce, to be all things to all people. The fears that we aren't good enough. The worry that we aren't providing enough for our family, that we aren't always there for our children.
Why do we do this to ourselves? Every season is different. Some years, you can do more, produce more. Others, your focus will need to be elsewhere. What you did 3 years ago is not necessarily likely that you should be able to do that again this year. Circumstances change. Our lives change. And we change along with it.
After the review, and the tears, and writing a letter to ourselves 10 years in the future, we CLOSE OUT the year. Done. No more thoughts or worries about what we did or didn't do. No more talk about it wasn't enough. The year is done, and we are moving on.
This year we celebrated with a cocktail designed especially for us by the amazing Dianne Buckley of Staged Envy (check out her "Saturday Sips at Six" on her social media channels!) ... and I'd like to share it with you!
Here is the "Fig-Et About It ... You Got This Martini", it's as awesome as it sounds!
