It's a sunny, beautiful late summer Monday morning here in Northern Virginia. My kids are still asleep, even my dogs slept in this morning (which means I slept in this morning).
On a day like today, or on any day really, what motivates you to get going, to get to the office, to get your work done?
We all know what we need to do to work on our business ... Make our calls, follow up with current clients and leads, make appointments, preview properties, not to mention all the work in our business to ensure that the details of our transactions are going smoothly, and our listings are being properly marketed. We know what to do, but sometimes it is hard to actually do it, to take action. It is easier to fall down the rabbit hole of the Internet looking for a great new tool to help stay organized or to make those follow ups easier, when really there is no substitute for just doing it. It is easier to be busy, than it is to be truly productive.
Les Brown has a quote that I love, "If you do what is easy, your life will be hard. If you do what is hard, your life will be easy."
We all need some motivation now and then, so what motivates you? Is it fun contests or challenges with your team or colleagues? Is it staying focused on your big why? Is it money? Is it your goal? Is it accountability to a person or coach? On a beautiful day Iike today when it would be so easy to do something else, what motivates you to stay on track, to take action?
