Super Summer Boot Camp - Week 4
They say that success can best be found and measured by who you associate with. Take some time this week to meet with a mentor for a minimum of 15 minutes. Could be as simple as a phone coversation, but ideally will be a meeting in person, maybe invite them for a chat over coffee.
A mentor doesn't necessarily have to be someone older than you or with more years of experience than you. Select someone that you think does something well that you would like to learn more about. Maybe it is an agent who is successful with listings. Maybe someone who seems to have a good "balance" worked out between real estate and family life. Maybe someone who is good at time management, a whiz with the computer, or even is just really knowledgeable in a topic, area or neighborhood that you would like to know more about (short sales, well and septic systems, staging, etc).
Chances are the "mentor" that you select will be flattered that you asked and happy to meet with you/talk with you to share their experiences.
It doesn't matter how many years you've been in business or how many homes you have sold, you can always learn something new. The busier we get, the less we make time for these types of things, and that is really I think when we need it most. It can help to propel you to the next level.
Be sure to follow up your meeting with your mentor with a handwritten thank you note. Comment here when you are done, and if you are comfortable, tag your mentor and include why you chose that person. If your mentor is a fellow woman in or supporting the real estate industry and aren't already in the group, be sure to add her!
