What is your schedule looking like these days?
With the Thanksgiving holiday this week, many of us are traveling, have family visiting us, we are cooking, baking, maybe even hosting. The Christmas season is right around the corner, which brings more traveling, visiting, cooking, baking, hosting, shopping, wrapping, gifting, partying, and more.
Add all of this on top of our "regular" lives and activities ... oh, and not to mention work. It's no wonder so many of us are stressed this time of year.
This quote by Stephen Covey puts it very clearly, and isn't it true? Schedule your priorities first. It sounds really easy, I know from first hand experience it isn't, especially in our line of work where your plans for the day can change on a dime.
Take a few moments today or tomorrow to write down your holiday season must do list. Time to create and deliver pop bys to your favorite clients. Quiet time for you with a hot drink, a blanket and a book. An appointment with your family or spouse to drive around and look at holiday lights. Make your list and put it on your schedule now. If you don't, chances are something will come up (and it always does) and before you know it the season has passed and you've missed out on the things you wanted to do. For me that also means making sure that I have time around those activities "saved" for work and the unexpected.
